SQL database administrator

Localization: Remote Work from territory of Poland

Main responsibilities:

  • Database administration position involving: daily Monitoring and maintaining, guaranteeing a 100% Backup (and Restore), Incident- and Problem management, Capacity Management, Change Management, Security Management including authorization, Configuration Management and troubleshooting of SQL databases in a big environment

  • Suggests and implements continuous improvements and automation proposals on both the server, as on procedures

  • Ensures optimal health and performance of the SQL infrastructure

  • First contact to client for all kinds of requests

  • Recommends database solutions to recognized problems and for design and implementation of new SQL servers and/or databases

  • Installation and configuration of SQL server and databases

  • Setting and keeping up effective monitoring for alerts and capacity analysis and performance (done within SCOM, DPA and in house build monitoring scripts)

  • Enforcing Enterprise security policies and procedures on databases

  • Coordination with Application Managers to assure the continuity of the database applications as regards upgrades, versions, patches, new releases (part of LCM)

  • Provides 24x7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members

  • Provides advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems and advanced technical support for database related project activities

 

Desired knowledge and skills:

  • Good knowledge on MSQL database CPU and memory use, AlwaysOn / high availability solutions

  • Knowledge of TSQL and Powershell (ability to create and maintain tools and scripts)

  • Knowledge of Windows Server platforms and server administration

  • Understanding of backup solutions

  • Proactive attitude also with keeping of with all new developments for SQL server

  • SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2019 + services included

  • Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS) and Analysis Services (SSAS) (will be a plus)

  • English – level B2
