Buyer Category Expert (IT)

About the role

We are looking for a Category Buyer / Category Expert to manage procurement activities within IT categories, including IT Services, Software, Hardware, Cloud, and Outsourcing. In this role, you will partner closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive sourcing initiatives, ensure service quality, and deliver measurable business value. This is a role for someone who combines a commercial mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes within IT categories
• Lead sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and conduct commercial negotiations
• Partner with business stakeholders across IT, Finance, and Operations
• Build and manage supplier relationships, including SLA and performance tracking
• Analyze spend, market trends, and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities
• Ensure contract compliance and IT service quality delivery

What you need to succeed

• 3–6+ years of experience in procurement within IT categories
• Experience in sourcing IT services (e.g. software, cloud, outsourcing, consulting)
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Experience in negotiating IT contracts and commercial terms
• Understanding of IT service delivery models, SLAs, and cost structures
• Strong analytical skills (spend analysis, benchmarking, cost drivers)
• Very good English (min. B2 level)

Nice to have

• Exposure to category management approach
• Experience in a global or matrix organization
• Knowledge of procurement tools (SAP, Ariba, Coupa, etc.)
