The opportunity

We're looking for motivated forward-thinking Senior Middleware Support Specialists, who love working in a fast-paced environment to join our well-established Middleware Support team within the Application Modernisation Services practice!



  • Respond to middleware-related incidents and problems affecting delivery of our client services.
  • Perform scheduled activities such as upgrades and patches in liaison with the account teams.
  • Work with the project and account teams to manage the services through-life: bring services into support (Service Introduction), understanding and impact assessing changes, retiring services.
  • Provide middleware SME input to projects – both at a design level (including production of HLDs and LLDs) and at an operational level (creating guides and definition of build verification scripts).
  • Maintain your learning and development so that your skills remain relevant to our clients’ needs.
  • Review the technical documents required for the running of the team including build guides and training packs.
  • Mentor and cross-train less experienced team members.
  • Being part of the on-call rota (including early or late shifts to cover an 8:00-18:00 working day and evening and weekend stand-by or callout).


If required, you'll have to travel to our customers’ and Atos’ sites UK wide but will be working remotely for now.


Note: The successful candidate should undertake and successfully gain SC level security clearance checks.

Red Hat:

§ JBoss EAP.

  • Experience working as part of a leveraged team delivering under pressure to meet client expectations.
  • Experience working with projects to design and implement middleware solutions.
  • Good interpersonal skills to enable easy working with project teams.
  • Love learning new technologies and for developing the skills and confidence of colleagues.
  • Use of Service Management tools, especially ability and knowledge to use Service Now.


Skills we’d like:

  • Experience with both public and private sector clients.
  • Familiar working with Agile/Scrum.
  • Certification in any of the products listed above.
