£35 000 - £58 000 including superb benefits, 25 days holiday, bonuses, private medical, private accident insurance and share scheme.

 

The main project locations for these roles are Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Telford and Worthing. Customer visits to one of the above-mentioned locations are required and your role will include a mixture of remote working, working from our client’s offices and working from customer offices.

 

Note: All Applicants must be either UK citizens or have lived in the UK for 5 years because Security Clearance eligibility is required.

The opportunity
We are looking for a Service Delivery Manager/Scrum Master to join our team and help us delivery Digital Transformation to our customers!

This role includes collaboration with:

  • Service managers, product owners and business analysts to identify and define user stories and acceptance criteria. 
  • Other developers on the team in ensuring that reuse of components is improved, and development effort is minimized.
  • The team’s UX Designer, Content Designer, and User Researcher will build web interfaces that satisfy user needs.

Responsibilities:

  • High-level requirements and change requests are established, technical options are identified, estimates are provided, and impact assessments advised in line with the Digital Service Standard.
  • Technical stories defined and non-technical stories refined (working collaboratively with the BA).
  • Security level, legal responsibilities, privacy issues and risks associated with the service are addressed.
  • Definition of “ready” (for development) and “done” are defined.
  • Service integration approach established (with the products), where applicable.
  • Hosting and service wrapper requirements are defined.
  • Code reviewed by peers and other team members.
  • Continuous integration pipelines to be used in beta and beyond are built.
  • Code development for each story follows the agreed standard methodology.
  • Facilitate story refinement and story point estimating.
  • Build and maintain documentation in Confluence and other similar tools
  • Handle sprints running inside program increments (aligned to SAFe) and software releases using: traditional gate-approval-based deployment and modern continuous integration/continuous deployment methods.
  • Keep a user-focused approach and consider the impact of their work on the user’s experience.


Signs of success:

  • The candidate should have a recognized Scrum master qualification from Scrum.org or similar.
  • Proven track record of success in the management of software development teams using Scrum.
  • Previous exposure to Jira and similar tools, including familiarity with sprint boards, ticket types, workflow, labels, components, releases.
  • Previous experience in running Scrum ceremonies, including having techniques for running Scrum retrospectives and use of associated tools, such as https://ideaboardz.com/ or similar.
  • Soft skills: active listener, respecting other's point of view and takes ownership of contributing the required input whilst demonstrating good interpersonal skills.
