We are looking for driven people at all career stages to join our Claims Senior Assessor! Our team is responsible for ensuring the accurate assessment and processing of life and disability claims including group income protection claims, as well as ensuring fair treatment of policyholders and financial advisors in a timely and efficient manner that is in line with agreed claims philosophy, practices and standards.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Processing claims within the required service standards and in accordance with departmental objectives and ensuring relevant TCF principles are applied at all times
  • Producing accurate assessment of all claims using; title, medical, financial, occupational and pursuits evidence in line with claims philosophy and practices & handling and supporting complex customer and IFA enquiries.
  • Acting as a source of technical guidance to others in order to resolve technical queries using appropriate processes, tools, systems and philosophy and supporting the development and delivery of claims or technical projects in an efficient and timely manner
  • Understanding of complaint handling process, endeavour to resolve any complaints on line
  • Willingly share knowledge with colleagues and adjust approach to work effectively with others and supporting and deliver training to others
  • Contributing to the effective management of claims costs including medical fees and seek and communicate opportunities to reduce costs
  • Operating in such a way as to minimise and alleviate reputational and financial risk to both Atos and the client
  • Managing and supporting internal or external partners to continuously enhance service delivery.
  • Operating within defined authority levels – minimum admission limits of £100k Life protection, £75k Critical illness, £350 per week Income protection and Waiver of premium and £50k total and Permanent Disability Benefit
  • Abide by all regulatory and compliance requirements in carrying out the requirements of the role, informing stakeholders where relevant e.g. Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
  • Escalating issues that are outside of personal authorisation limits as appropriate

 

Additionally, you will:

  • Seek to identify and propose business and procedural improvements, both within own department, and based on root cause analysis in the operational departments.
  • Support business change activities and provide input as an SME where required
  • Behave internally, in the communities in which we operate and when externally representing the company, in accordance with the Governing Principles and Atos Management System.
  • Effectively manage internal and external partners and regulatory bodies. Develop proactive relationships with all internal/external stakeholders
