The opportunity!

We are looking for motivated HPC Technical Consultants to join our team.

In this position you will be working within the HPC support and services group, you’ll play a key role in providing HPC product and customer management/support as your mainstream activity in the deployment and use of that product, with occasional opportunity to participate in the design, verification and implementation of solutions across the HPC and Big Data customer base.

We’re a small team, with a great deal of experience, looking both to expand and to provide succession planning over the next few years, so there will be plenty of room to grow, ample training available and support and detailed mentorship from team members.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Product Management
  • Mastery of aspects of elements of ATOS Super Computing Suite, SCS software product.
  • Product Support
  • Knowledge of the SCS product and support methodologies. Ability to document and investigate problems encountered, determine solutions, apply corrections. Structured capability to take care of and priorities multiple job streams simultaneously. Desire to get involved in problem-solving.
  • Customer Management
  • Willingness and ability to take the lead role in running individual customers situations. Drive their usage set and enable them to get the best out of their use of the product. Help define and own the support strategy within the customer technical team providing guidance on best practice and assisting with new solution implementation.
  • Customer Support
  • Pick up and investigate possible problems and difficulties experienced by customers across the product range where you have developed expertise. Work to improve customer satisfaction with the products and with our support regime supplied with it. Identify and resolve areas of difficulty.
  • Pre-sales activity
  • Deploy in-depth technical knowledge where appropriate to verify or assist in the design of unique solutions.
  • Post-sales service delivery
  • You will be involved in the delivery and implementation of systems and solutions.

 

Skills we can’t do without:

  • A real passion for technology and enthusiasm for analytical and problem-solving challenges.
  • Through formal education or self-learning, a good understanding and knowledge of Linux and Networking.
  • Knowledge of scripting language using bash and/or python.

 

Skills we’d like:

  • Good interpersonal capabilities and some experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Proficiency to design, build, test and support systems.
  • The ability to balance workloads across a wide variety of projects.
  • A hardworking attitude towards learning and flexibility to adapt to new challenges or changes in direction.
  • Experience of using configuration management (e.g. ansible, salt, puppet) and technology framework.
  • Container technology (e.g. LXD, Singularity, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with network architectures used for high-bandwidth, low-latency applications.
  • Experience with RoCE, InfiniBand, RDMA - understanding of typical configurations and performance.
  • Knowledge and experience with HPC batch job schedulers.
  • Knowledge and experience in application profiling, HPC system performance tuning.
  • Knowledge of TCP, IPv4/6, Routing Protocols, and related network services (DHCP, DNS).
