The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Business Transformation Services - Customer Experience Team!

Being part of our team means passionately supporting our clients in the success of their projects from a design perspective while working collaboratively to share skills and solve problems.

The team of Customer Experience professionals is based across the UK in our Customer Experience and Innovation Centre sites: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Lytham and London.


Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Working with data and qualitative insight, through collaboration with internal employees and external clients, to design solutions and strategic propositions
  • Understanding and articulating clearly how services need to change from a customer centric, system, and business perspective
  • Mapping the service experiences of users and defining how clients could change what and how they deliver so to achieve successful customer outcomes and operate more effective
  • Carrying out user research to define and communicate people’s needs
  • Identifying how organisations can reduce cost of delivery and improve outcomes through re-design of user experience, business processes, and better collaboration across systems
  • Designing, building, and setting usability tests for service and product prototypes, working from sketches into quick prototypes that can be iterated with feedback
  • Co-designing with our clients and communities to design new service models and value propositions
  • Taking research into practical insights and communicating this in a succinct and human-centred way to partners
  • Working to the highest ethical standards of research and design practice, promoting inclusive design practice at all levels
  • Providing input and critical thought at our show and tells and design playbacks
  • Supporting the development of Atos internal processes and tools
  • Setting future visions for products and services that inspire people and meet needs

  • Bring an optimistic and entrepreneurial attitude to our work, supporting directors and sponsors to spot and enable new opportunities across client accounts both new and existing
  • Having confidence and experience in the end-to-end journey of a project, from navigating sales through to end delivery
  • Having confidence in agile practice and language related to the design process


Skill we can’t do without:

User focus. You can identify needs and engage with users or partners to collate user needs evidence. You understand and can define research that fits user needs. You can use quantitative and qualitative data about users to turn user focus into outcomes.

Communication skills. You understand the need to translate technical concepts into non-technical language and understand what communication is required for internal and external partners.

Community collaboration. You will support and champion an inclusive culture.

Digital perspective. You demonstrate an awareness of design, technology and data principles. You are engaged with trends in design and know how to set priorities. You have good understanding of the internet and the range of available technology choices.

Facilitating decisions and risks- identify technical disputes and describe them in ways that are relevant both to direct peers and to local partners. You can work collaboratively while recommending decisions and the reasoning behind them.

Agile working. Awareness of agile methodology and the ways you can apply the principles in practice.


Skills we’d like:

Prototyping. You know about prototyping and can explain why and when to use it.

Experience in design sprints. You have been part of or ran a design sprint.
