Data Analyst: Job Description

Role Overview

Support the R&D Data Products team at Sanofi. You'll drive requirements gathering, data modelling, and stakeholder alignment to deliver high-quality data products and transversal capabilities across R&D.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, document, and validate business requirements on data observability features, including data monitoring, data lineage and data SLA definitions.
  • Map and analyse business processes to identify gaps and opportunities.
  • Translate complex data needs into clear functional specifications.
  • Collaborate with product owner and data engineers.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships across technical and business teams.
  • Maintain documentation: BRDs, user stories, data dictionaries, process flows.

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years as a Data Analyst, with strong data observability expertise.
  • Proficient in SQL for data exploration and validation.
  • Experience with data observability tools (Datadog, Monte Carlo or customized tools).
  • Solid requirements gathering and analysis skills.
  • Proven stakeholder management across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Pharma/ life sciences industry experience.

 

Nice-to-Have

  • Python or R for data analysis.
  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • ETL, PowerBI.
  • Agile / Scrum delivery experience.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks.

 

Soft Skills

  • Clear, concise communicator across technical and business audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving ability.
  • Self-starter — comfortable working in a fast-paced, global environment.
