Position: CGO Presales Solution Manager
Location: Mumbai, India
Focus: 60% Internal Tech Leadership | 40% External Customer Strategy & Sales Support
The "Sales Catalyst" Responsibility
1. Technical Credibility & Trust Building
- The "Face of Tech": Accompany the Sales/Business Development team to high-stakes client meetings to act as the ultimate technical authority.
- Architectural Assurance: Explain complex Application, Cloud, and Security frameworks to customers in a way that builds immediate trust and mitigates their risk concerns.
- Security Audits & Compliance: Directly handle customer-side technical due diligence, security questionnaires, and compliance audits (DPDP, ISO 27001, SOC2).
2. Solution Engineering & Pre-Sales
- Custom Solutioning: Work with the Sales team to translate vague customer "pain points" into concrete technical requirement documents (BRDs/FRDs).
- POC (Proof of Concept) Leadership: Oversee the rapid development of prototypes or demos to prove technical feasibility during the sales cycle.
- ROI Translation: Bridge the gap by explaining how the company’s tech stack (e.g., AI-driven automation or low-latency infra) translates into cost savings or revenue for the customer.
3. Market Intelligence & Roadmap Alignment
- Feedback Loop: Act as the "Ear to the Ground"—collecting direct feedback from customers to influence the internal Product Roadmap.
- Thought Leadership: Represent the company at Mumbai tech summits (e.g., NASSCOM, Bombay Chamber of Commerce events) to build brand authority.
Specific Requirements for the "Customer-Facing" CTO
- Executive Presence: Must have the grooming, communication skills, and "gravitas" to present to C-suite executives and Board members.
- The "Whiteboard" Skill: Ability to walk into a client office and visually map out a solution on a whiteboard in real-time.
- Conflict Resolution: Experience in managing "Technical Friction" during the onboarding of new clients—turning a "No" into a "How" through creative engineering.
- Empathy & Listening: Unlike a pure developer, this CTO must listen to the business problem before proposing the tech solution.
Ideal Candidate Profile (Mumbai Specific)
- Experience: 12–15 Years. Likely someone who has spent time in IT Consulting (Big 4/Accenture) or a Product SaaS company where they were involved in enterprise-level sales.
- Background: Must have transitioned from a "Hands-on Developer" to a "Solution Architect" and then into "Technical Management."
- Network: Preference for candidates with an existing network in the Mumbai/Pune tech ecosystem.
