Your role as a Service Desk engineer @ Atos
A Service Desk engineer is the key interface between the customer Nationale Politie and the underlying Atos support team, providing a large and high available private cloud environment. Providing 7*24 support, working in a 5-shift rotation.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Interface between Atos and the Operational Control Room of the Nationale Politie
  • Monitoring and safeguard the Generieke Infrastructure’s private cloud environment.
  • Incident, standard change & problem handling on L1/L2 level
  • Properly dispatch requests to L3 support teams.
  • Execution of Daily production activities (patching, reporting, monitoring activities…)

 

Skills we'd need you to have:

  • Experience with working in a large VMware cloud, (over 10 Vcenters) and more than 500 physical servers. 
  • Experience with VSAN
  • Experience with VSAN ready nodes
  • Knowledge of services like IaaS, PaaS and their differences
  • Knowledge of either windows server or Linux Redhat.
  • Vmware Vrops and Loginsight.
  • You live in the Netherlands.
  • You speak, read and write Dutch fluent.
  • *A screening by AIVD (Dutch homeland security) is a requirement for this role. 


Skills we'd like you to have or willing to learn:

  • Experience working as a L1/2 engineer in similar environments (Large Dell/Vmware private cloud with HA and DR)
  • A team player mindset
  • Good communication skills towards teams and customer.
  • Stress resistant
  • Can create, read, and adjust documentation.
  • Experience working with Confluence
  • Experience with Gitlab
  • Experience with VXBlock
  • Experience with Dell Openmanage
  • Experience with Vmware Vrops and loginsight
