For a key client, we are looking to hire an experienced Oracle Forms Application Developer. Experience with Oracle or another database is required, but not specifically with Oracle Forms. Subject matter expertise is more important and will be acquired during the deployment. Therefore, the deployment is for a longer period (at least 3-5 years).

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining an existing application, to which new functionality is regularly added. The core of the application is a relational Oracle Database.
  • Future development is considering the use of big data technologies alongside the Oracle Database.
  • The user interface is built with Oracle Forms, supplemented with open-source Java code. Consideration is being given to replacing (parts of) the existing user interface with newer, more future-proof technologies. No solutions have yet been chosen.
  • A significant portion of the application's functionality consists of Oracle PL/SQL procedures, which the employee must maintain.
  • The employee will also maintain the user interface's Java code.
  • It would be helpful if the employee could also perform (small-scale) maintenance on the Forms user interface, in consultation with an experienced colleague who will largely perform this maintenance.
  • Part of this role involves functional management and information analysis. The employee must be able to translate functional requirements into concrete specifications, in consultation with the functional manager of the client.
