About the Role
The Chief Delivery Officer (CDO) is responsible for the end-to-end delivery performance of all customer engagements in the Netherlands.
The role ensures high-quality, predictable, and profitable delivery, balancing:
- Client satisfaction and service excellence
- Financial performance and margin optimization
- Operational stability and transformation outcomes
The CDO acts as the ultimate accountable for delivery, with mandate over:
- Day-2-day delivery across business lines.
- Major escalations and service risks
- Quality of Services on all accounts.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Delivery Leadership
- Own the full delivery lifecycle across:
- Managed services
- Projects and transformation programs
- Multi-tower service environments (Apps, Infra, Workplace and Security
- Ensure delivery meets contractual obligations, SLAs, and KPI’s
- Act as the final escalation point for critical service issues
Financial & P&L Accountability
- Own delivery-related P&L activities on accounts
- Drive:
- Margin improvement
- Cost efficiency (location, pyramid, automation)
- Productivity gains and industrialization
- Align delivery execution with business case commitments
- You own and drive the relationship with the account teams to ensure relevant performance improvement plans are designed, implemented and executed to satisfaction
Customer & Executive Engagement
- Build and maintain C-level client relationships (CIO, COO, CTO)
- Represent delivery in:
- Executive governance forums (SteerCo customers, internal Management Business Reviews)
- Crisis management and escalations
- Drive customer satisfaction (CSAT/NPS)
- You own YoY external reporting on performance
- You own maintaining relevant high levels of service and improvement where required for others.
Delivery Governance & Risk Management
- Ensure:
- Compliance with contract terms, security, and regulatory requirements
- Risk identification and mitigation across the portfolio
- Own management of:
- Major incidents
- Service continuity risks
- Delivery recoveries
Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvement programs, including:
- Automation / AI-driven delivery
- Service integration and standardization
- Embed:
- Continuous improvement culture
- Operational excellence
- Drive and Own continuous improvement in proactive / predictive delivery
- Continuously optimize and balance for
- Ring-fenced teams
- Global Delivery Centers (offshore/nearshore/onshore mix)
- Own workforce strategy:
- Staffing pyramid (junior / medior / senior)
- Capability development and reskilling
- Talent retention and leadership pipeline
Requirements
- Based in the Netherlands, preferably close to Eindhoven
- 15+ years experience in IT services delivery / outsourcing
- Proven leadership of large, multi-country delivery organizations
- Strong experience in:
- Managed services & transformation programs
- P&L ownership (> large-scale portfolio)
- Complex client governance
- Strong knowledge of:
- ITIL / service management frameworks
- Global delivery models
- Contract and commercial management
- Dutch and English is mandatory
