We have successfully completed the modernisation phase of one of our key defence projects and are now kicking off brand-new work packages under a new contract. As we move forward into this exciting stage, we are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and energetic Lead Software Engineer, whose primary responsibility will be people management of the team based in Ankara.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Providing people leadership for a large team
  • Support individual growth through development plans and regular check-ins
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to help team members reach their potential
  • Identify training and upskilling needs
  • Lead performance review cycles and provide constructive feedback
  • Recognise high performance and address underperformance
  • Organise and lead regular team meetings
  • Monitor employee engagement

 

Technical Requirements

  • B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • 8+ years of proven experience in software development
  • Strong background in Object-Oriented Programming
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft Development Technologies
    • Web Application Development and Web Services
    • Angular & TypeScript (large-scale, multi-module SPA development)
    • RESTful API design and integration (XML, JSON, etc.)
    • JavaScript, HTML5, and modern web frameworks
    • Relational and/or NoSQL databases
    • ORM frameworks/tools (concurrency, collections, loading strategies, validation, caching, etc.)

 

  • Knowledge of:
    • Design Patterns and best practices
    • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) models
    • Agile methodologies and Scrum
  • Experience with Configuration Management Systems (e.g., MS Azure, TFS, Git, ClearCase)
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration and DevOps concepts

 

Nice to Have

  • .NET Framework / .NET Core
  • Java
  • WPF / Silverlight (XAML)
  • Entity Framework, NHibernate
  • WCF services implementation
  • Key-value stores (HBase, Cassandra, Redis, etc.)
  • Messaging queue technologies (RabbitMQ, MSMQ, etc.)
  • Troubleshooting and performance optimisation
  • Experience with defence projects compliant with IEEE 12207

 

Responsibilities

  • Analyse user requirements and create software specifications
  • Design and document technical solutions
  • Develop and maintain applications in line with Atos processes and industry standards
  • Perform unit testing, code reviews, and refactoring
  • Support release deployments and resolve post-production issues
  • Collaborate in peer reviews and team activities
  • Provide timely support to customer needs, troubleshoot issues, and deliver solutions
  • Write clear technical documentation and present complex information effectively
