What you’ll be doing:


Eviden is the leading provider of High-Performance Computing (HPC) in Europe. Our customers include Government Agencies, Research Institutions, Universities, and Blue-Chip manufacturing and defense companies.  As an HPC Field Support engineer, you will be installing, configuring, and supporting some of the most important HPC systems in the world. 
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting one of Eviden’s most important HPC customers in their use of Eviden HPC solutions. You will gain exposure to the entire HPC lifecycle as you implement the latest HPC technologies and support them through their life cycle. You will be responsible for Hardware parts replacement and Level 1 system software support.
As part of an agile European HPC team, you’ll work at the customer site near Stockholm and also have the opportunity to participate from time to time in other HPC installations across Europe. 
From early on you will represent Eviden within the Swedish customer account and be in the interface between the customer and Eviden’s backline support organization to optimize the customer’s HPC investment.

 

Be informed that the selected candidate will need to go through a Security clearance.

 

Essential Skills:


This is an intellectually stimulating opportunity that will help you learn how cutting-edge HPC technology works. A technology degree or science, technology, engineering or maths is preferred but relevant work experience will also be considered. This is an ideal role for a first or second job candidate who is confident in their technical abilities and in their ability to manage technical customer relationships. 


In addition to your qualifications, the key strengths we are looking for include: 



•    Hands-on experience in building or maintaining computer equipment
•    Knowledge and experience of using Linux
•    Shell scripting
•    Understanding of Networking and Network Security
•    Technical aptitude and interest in computing engineering  
•    Inquisitive mindset and a fast learner, motivated to progress
•    Out-of-the-box thinking, to solve problems in innovative ways
•    Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – to clearly explain technical issues to non-technical audiences 
•    Confident communicating with technical stakeholders at all levels 
•    Strong interpersonal skills
•    Able to win trust and build relationships
•    Good organizational skills and attention to detail

 

The candidate must be located within a short commute of Stockholm and be prepared to spend most working days at the customer location. No remote option
