Job title: Storage Specialist 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for virtual provisioning & Tiering
  • Create LUNs and mapping to host, perform LUN/Server decommission
  • Create, add and remove Meta Device
  • Able to handle local and remote replication for Backup / DR
  • Create CIFS & NFS file system and export to host and basic troubleshoot of CIFS & NFS permission issues.
  • Create Qtrees, Implementing Quota Limits with user level and folder level with quota policies
  • Configure, administer and troubleshoot Snap-Mirror Environment
  • Manage the reports using operations manager
  • Able to perform health checks, zoning, troubleshooting fabric related issues and handle updates
  • Able to handle change preparation, review and approval
  • Schedule snapshots and snap-vault snapshots, snap-drive, snap manager
  • Handle routine reporting and escalation from peer
  • Able to handle basic troubleshooting over storge performance
  • Able to handle advanced performance analysis and advise for the hot spot and propose resolution
  • Engage in solutioning of new technology
  • Migrate planning and change arrangement
  • On Duty roster to support for 24 x 7 Standby services, participate ad-hoc incident

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science / Information System or related disciplines
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant hands-on experience in storage, experience with storage technology including VSP, Hitachi Storage Navigator, Tuning Manager, NETAPP, Brocade etc
  • Solid understanding of operating system (Linux/AIX/Solaris/Windows/ESX/ HPUX) would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Service Management tools – Remedy/Service Now would be an advantage
  • Acquire ITIL / ISO Process certification would be an advantage
  • Understanding of enterprise networking would be an advantage
  • Experience with vendor support would be an advantage
  • Experience with SAN/NAS/Fabric L2 support would be an advantage
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent Planning and execution, good time management skill
  • Applying quality standards to all tasks undertaken and ensuring that nothing is overlooked.
  • Pay attention to assigned and provide accuracy on the task/ activity
  • High level of flexibility and adaptability to situation
  • Fluent in English and Cantonese
