Purpose

The role is that of Senior SAP Financials Consultant.

On a project the Senior Consultant works usually under the direction of a SAP Project Manager delivering SAP implementations, in a lead role. The main deliverables are to assist with the design, specification, build, test and go live of the required SAP solution at each client.

Within an SAP Applications Management environment, the Consultant works to support Clients' SAP solutions, i.e. engaging in issue resolution and activities regarding solution development, individually or as part of a team where they are seen as the expert in their field.

Tasks

This person will be responsible for carrying out the following tasks:

  • Ensuring that the Business and user community requirements are met (using appropriate configuration, consulting and communication skills);
  • Preparing and delivering to a detailed work plans and schedules;
  • Maintaining close working relationships with other team members and sub-contractors;
  • Where appropriate, ensuring that the development and user teams are fully briefed on the specification expectations;
  • Performing assigned tasks according to specifications;
  • Developing resolutions to issues;
  • Maintaining close working relationships with other team members and sub-contractors;
  • Adhering to project standards in all activities;
  • Ensuring the production of quality deliverables and assist in quality management;
  • SAP system familiarisation;
  • Obtaining assistance in solving problems in a timely and expedient manner;
  • Maintaining an awareness of potential risks and assist in risk management;
  • Assisting with the smooth and timely Transition of new Customers / new Solutions into SAP AM Group;
  • Providing knowledge transfer to client project team where applicable;
  • Assisting our customers in creating and delivering innovative solution.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Good business knowledge and an understanding of at least 2 business processes;
  • Previous experience in a consultancy role in at least 5 SAP projects;
  • Proven team leading and technical leadership skills;
  • Fully mobile in terms of assignment location;
  • Certification in FI and/or CO;
  • Has been in a finance team lead role in small to medium SAP projects or worked as a lone FICO consultant on projects.

Desirable:

  • Degree educated or equivalent;
  • Second language;
  • Worked within a Consultancy firm (top 5/6);
  • Experience of global client implementations is an advantage;
  • Certification SAP Financials;
  • Configuration knowledge of FSCM functionality;
  • Understanding of the integration points between SAP ECC and CRM and SRM;
  • Has strong base knowledge of mySAP functionality in the FICO arena;
  • Able to communicate and advise within the client finance community;
  • Qualified/Part qualified Accountant or Accounting experience.

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of the mySAP Financials (FI and CO) suite including at least one implementation of new GL functionality;
  • Conceptual understanding of FSCM functionality;
  • Sound understanding of the integration points within SAP especially SD, MM;
  • Has strong base knowledge of mySAP functionality in the FICO arena;
  • Able to communicate and advise within the client project community.
  • Ability to work alone or part of a larger team;
  • Can analyse, diagnose, design, plan, execute and evaluate work to time, cost and quality targets, exhibiting thorough familiarity with available methods, procedures, tools, equipment and standards associated with own area of specialization and making correct choices from alternatives;
  • Can communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with clients, customers, colleagues and
  • subordinates;
  • Develops an understanding of the relationship of own specialization or area of responsibility to the employing organization and takes customer requirements fully into account when making proposals and/or carrying out work;
  • Has personal presence to represent the client organisation both externally and internally, formally and
  • informally, establishing confidence and respect both for the functions represented and as an individual;
