  • Scans paper medical records into the electronic health record and then verifies all pages are in the proper tab and account.
  • Checks for all types of mis-scans and misidentified documents.
  • Collects medical records from hospital clinical areas.
  • Edits electronic medical record for corrections.
  • Must have great attention to detail and be extremely committed to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the medical record.
  • May also release medical records to various requestors in accordance with HIPAA and internal P&P’s.
  • May also analyze medical record for completeness and assign deficiencies.
  • May be assigned additional tasks by the HIM Director or unit lead to ensure the smooth flow of medical record processing. 
  • Answer phones, faxes, and patient requests.

  • Available to work 8am-4:30 pm and flexible to work on the weekend as needed.

  • Able to multi-task and we will be cross training on Release of Information, Scanning, and other HIM tasks.
