This position is within the Big Data and Security (BDS) Cyber Platforms team, administering and managing security tooling and services across a number of client accounts ranging from 100 to 100,000 users.

 

The opportunity

 

The Cyber Platform Security Specialist role is to provide day to day management of the security tooling and services protecting our customer’s networks and endpoints. To input to the development, maintenance and support of specific security technologies and to ensure that the service provided to customers meets the established Service Level Agreements, quality standards and targets required.

 

On-going training is available within this role along with career development and progression opportunities.
 

The range of activities and tasks to be undertaken are:

 

  • The support and management of enterprise Malware Protection, Host Intrusion Detection, Endpoint Device Control, Data Loss Prevention, Disk/File Encryption and Identity and Access Management.
  • Support to include system architecture, patching/upgrades, administration, policy management/tuning, client agent management and monitoring for all above managed solutions.
  • Rapid response to identified threats on customer estates to ensure swift resolution and mitigation/prevention against potential vulnerabilities or outbreaks.
  • Management of security tooling agents and patch/hotfix deployment with effective troubleshooting to ensure full customer estate coverage.
  • Carry out analysis, evaluation and compatibility testing of security applications for new hardware/software.
  • Identify opportunities to apply innovation and new technologies to customers, suppliers, and partners and advise those responsible for progression.
  • Maintain an awareness of current developments in the enterprise security arena and conduct research and development of new technologies.
  • Provide advice, both reactively and pro-actively, to customers, projects, bid teams and colleagues.
  • Provide, or assist with, quality assurance of activities involving security technologies, which are carried out by others.
  • Develop and maintain quality standards and policies relating to security technologies and management. 
  • Carry out specific assignments and projects in the platform security remit, either alone or as part of a team.
  • Educate using appropriate methods those in closely-related areas, such as clients/users and development teams, about security and management and its impact on their work.
  • Prepare and produce systems documentation in accordance with Atos and ISO9000 policies and procedures.
  • Use appropriate methods to provide coaching to colleagues in security technologies and act as a mentor for developing members of the teams.
  • Provide technical guidance/recommendations to customers to enhance their overall security posture within the managed products
  • Establish a long term and sustainable relationship with customers for support with the ability to communicate in a clear and precise manner
  • Manage, escalate and drive satisfactory resolution of customer’s technical support, service and infrastructure issues
  • Lead in sharing of best practices with team members to contribute to enhance the quality and efficiency of customer support

We are looking specifically for staff to be based out of either Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Crewe or Leeds offices where we have established our teams. The successful candidate will be required to gain SC level security clearance.

 

Skills we can’t do without:

 

  • Ability to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge, and preferably experience, of managing enterprise cyber security solutions, from implementation through to BAU management, monitoring and threat mitigation.

 

  • Skills and working knowledge in one or two of the below technologies:
  • Trend Micro Office Scan/Deep Security/Apex One
  • Digital Guardian Endpoint DLP 
  • McAfee ePO including Endpoint Security (ENS) and DLP
  • Microsoft Defender ATP
  • Ivanti Device Control and/or McAfee Device Control
  • Microsoft MBAM/Bitlocker and/or BeCrypt CPA
  • Crowdstrike Falcon
  • Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM)

 

  • Experience in handling security incidents and adhering to compliance requirements.
  • Fluent English skills: able to communicate effectively with stakeholders via telephone, face to face and email. Able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical individuals in an understandable manner
  • Ability to quickly develop good relationships with customers and fellow colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to wide audiences
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to define the precise nature of customer and technical problems and delivery of proactive troubleshooting.
  • Ability to provide specific and clear instructions and problem-solving advice to customers and colleagues.
  • Team player: experience working in a team environment working to achieve set targets / objectives successfully.
  • Self-motivation to take ownership of issues to resolution despite complexities.

 

Skills we’d like:

 

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • System security certification such as CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CEH, CISM, CISSP or equivalent.
  • Experience of managing and supporting large security solution customer environments running multiple site locations.
  • Experience of scripting languages such as Python, VB scripting or PowerShell to aid automation of services.
