The opportunity

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Solution Architect experienced in HPC to join the department of Atos. You will act as the technical domain specialist on HPC disciplines while also being responsible for the technical requirements in this area.

The main driver for this role is to ensure significant growth in the BDS HPC pipeline and therefore enable BDS to address a greater volume of deals. It is vital that the successful candidate is a self-starter and begins in the role with a large body of domain expertise to hand (that exceeds our current capability) and also has a large number of customer wins already to their name (preferably in the private sector).

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Attributes, implementation, and roadmaps for
  • HPC systems design, including high performance computing trends and directions, high performance interconnect technologies and topologies, and high-performance storage subsystems
  • HPC systems software for deployment, monitoring and operations of HPC systems
  • HPC end user applications software, with a knowledge of MPI and issues associated with scaling and performance
  • Design supercomputer platforms from the ground up: optimise network configuration, disk configuration, CPU and memory specification against performance and client budget.
  • Respond to tenders sometimes to tight deadlines. To totally own the technical response and coordinate members within other teams in achieving answers.
  • Work closely with R&D and our partners where appropriate, without input from the manager on seeking to refine technical answers
  • To be a proactive member of the team and take the lead in achieving technical answers both internally to Atos and with our external partner vendors and ISVs.
  • To keep abreast of technical features; this includes the ability to log into a system and demonstrate certain capabilities both with the Atos Middleware stack and our partners.
  • Established network within the HPC ecosystem including private sector customers, partners and Government.
  • Communicate clearly and reliably into a wider project team that will consist of sales, presales, solution architects, project managers, and business development managers. Excellent presentation, written and verbal skills
  • Work with the sales team in qualifying deals, attending sales-led meetings, and provide technical presentations to clients.
  • To exploit Atos Group European initiatives and to work with the central teams for the benefit of UK and Ireland.
