The opportunity

The Finance and Procurement role is part of the Account Management office for Existing Business in Atos BPS IT & Change. The role holder will work closely with the Programme and Project Managers and the account leadership team to ensure financials are forecasted, tracked and reported on accurately to senior management. This role is a backfill for someone currently in post who is leaving the business.


Your day-to-day responsibilities include:



Develop and maintain a consolidated finance picture across Client Account, with detailed understanding of current and projected finances

Support PMs and the account leadership in financial planning and management

Maintain E2E Process agreement with Finance

Maintain structure and ownership list of all Client Account WBS codes. Ensure there are forecasts against each code in use and implement regular forecast reviews

Develop and maintain yearly/ bi-yearly budgets with project teams and BAU

Maintain updated position of programme to plan v budgets. Implement temperature checks on potential overspend and opportunities to save

Month end: Produce Finance report and pack and support senior management’s approval decisions

Own Third Party Charging Process

Align with Resource Manager on Subcontractor extension process, to ensure continuity of resources to support delivery


Maintain BPS Finance Issues log

Input monthly to Compliance Review tracker

Develop and Maintain BAU Finance Governance Pack

Support Change Control and other governance processes, providing regular and ad hoc reporting and inputs as needed

Provide financial assurance and checks during project service acceptance.


Line manage the procurement analyst and accountable for providing support to PMs and senior stakeholders.

Overlook Procurement process end-to-end management, including management of application and software licenses.

Provision of invoicing and purchase order services, working with AMO Support Officer

This position is location-agnostic. It will support projects in Edinburgh and will require occasional travel; however, primarily remote based. We have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work flexibly, and many of us are working remotely due to COVID-19.


Skills we cannot do without:

The role is majority focused on Finance, so looking for someone with a strong Project finance background.

Track record of exceptional financial & cost management in project and programme environment

Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement

Proven ability to influence and challenge managers at all levels toward effective financial planning and management

Demonstrable ability to learn existing work breakdown/cost structures, maintain and drive improvements where needed to govern & report finances efficiently

Expertise in using spreadsheets/ Excel for extracting and reporting purposes. Good working knowledge of MS Office applications

Self-sufficient and forward-looking/ planning


Skills we’d like:

Proven experience within a financial/ procurement role, working as part of a cross-functional team in a complex, fast-paced, matrix environment

Collaboration with others to identify areas for improvement and simplify processes – using technology where possible – to increase efficiency and enhance customer service
