Mainframe Process Coordinator/ Workplanner


As a Mainframe Process Coordinator you are responsible for planning and monitoring changes, monitoring resolution times for incidents and issues that have been fully or partially assigned to one of the Mainframe Service Now groups.

In general it includes the following Tasks:

  • Responsible for the handling and monitoring of all changes.
  • Responsible for the handling and monitoring of all incidents and problems (including associated interested parties).
  • Responsible for administrative tasks such as preparation of the CAB, document update/review and reporting.
  • Chairman of the CAB.


As a Chairman/Participant of the CAB you require the following skills:

  • Change classification - ability to classify changes correctly
  • Cost validation - ability to identify if the change is in SLA or on Time & Material base
  • Change Implementation Plan - ability to create and review CIPs
  • Risk analysis - ability Identifying risks and developing risk mitigation tactics
  • Prerequisites - ability to determine prerequisites for the changes
  • Fall Back - ability to check if a back out plan is in place and tested
  • Testing - ability to check requirements for testing and make clear which test evidence must be provided and recorded for audit reasons
  • Resourcing - allocate and inform resources verify they have a WBS to book their time
  • Authorization - chase required Approvals from all stakeholders and record for audits


Knowledge and experience with below processes is very recommended:

  • Incident Management
  • Problem Management
  • Change Management
  • Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM)
  • Transition Planning and Support
  • Release and Deployment Management
  • Service testing and validation
  • Change evaluation


Experience of and working with ServiceNow would be very relevant
