Mission

The Spot Buyer Team Leader is responsible for the success of the entry-level buyers within the strategic procurement organization.   Working with the procurement leadership team, the Manager-Spot Buyer Team ensure that the spot buyers are trained and equipped to carry out their responsibilities.  The Manager-Spot Buyer team also establishes performance metrics against which the team can clearly define a career path within the procurement organization.   The manager-spot buying teams forecasts the effort required across the categories and works to cross-train the spot buyers to ensure that the workload is evenly distributed.

 

Main Responsibilities

Management and Leadership

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the Spot Buyer team
  • Design and execute a rigorous onboarding and training program to ensure that all direct reports have the skills required to meet expectations of their role.
  • Guarantee that all Atos global and regional standards and requirements are applied to team’s activities. 
  • Sustain current staffing model to forecast staffing needs; design a strategy to manage peaks in demand to ensure that work is evenly distributed.
  • Maintain adequate staffing, including the identification of suitable candidates to fill open positions.
  • Suggest and recommend members of the team to advance their career within the procurement organization
  • Provide personal guidance and support to each member of the team to review savings projects, catalogs and other critical projects to provide direction and assistance
  • Deploy skills matrix to identify areas of weakness among the team and develop a response to mitigate those weaknesses to enable forward movement within the organization.
  • Work with each member of the team to develop meaningful objectives for each semester. The objectives should relate to the overall direction of the process & operations team goals.
  • Conduct periodic performance reviews for team to provide feedback, identify areas where improvement is needed, and encouragement personal growth.
  • Create and deliver reports to senior leadership as needed     

Continual Improvement

  • Develop and suggest process and operational improvements that would streamline operations, improve customer service, and reduce delays
  • Foster a spirit of innovation among the team, where each team member is comfortable in recommending process improvements.

Service and Efficiency

  • Serve as escalation point for service and delivery delays or failures.  Analyze each escalation to determine remediation to avoid similar escalations.
  • Develop, track and maintain adherence to key performance indicators used to measure the team’s overall service and efficiency.
  • Track all projects assigned, making sure to meet any deadlines required.

 

 

 

 

 

Required Capabilities

Technical Abilities

  • Familiarity with Atos procurement process and tools
  • Skilled at the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Excellent English and Spanish language skills; must be able to comfortably communicate in written and spoken English and Spanish
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership

Professional Abilities

  • Knowledge of procurement concepts and terms
  • Basic negotiation and contract terms and conditions knowledge
  • Proven team management and coaching ability
  • Ability to build solid relationships with co-workers and leadership
  • Self-Starter: Must be able to identify areas that need improvement and recommend steps to improve

  • Proven leadership skills in successfully managing a team.

  • Ability to create and apply easily followed guidelines
  • Experience in working remotely a plus.
