Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

Role Description-

"The DevOps team provides second- and third-line support and development services for several solutions / flagship applications for our client. At a high level, the service working within SLA and KPI’s is focussed on delivering a high-quality DevOps experience, stable and robust application environment for the client and end-user community.

NOTE:-  SC Clearance Eligibility is Mandatory

To that end the provision includes but is not restricted to:

• Reception and resolution of end-user generated incidents/issues.
• Out-of- hours coverage for high priority incidents.
• Root cause analysis and solution identification of problems.
• Implementation of Service Requests.
• Change & improvements to the product.
• Continuous Service Improvement both application and team methods of operation.

Responsibilities include but not restricted to (in no particular order):

• Supervising the incident management tools and either working on or assigning incidents as they are raised.
• Resolution of incidents and change tasks in line with agreed service levels.
• Identification and resolution of problem records.
• Root cause investigation and resolution of problem records.
• Proactive identification and implementation of service improvements to the application and overall solution.
• Delivery and implementation of standard changes.
• Proactive application monitoring, batch processes, health checks and server administration.
• Building internal and external relationships.
• Development with subsequent testing and deployment of changes and enhancements.
• Participation in major project implementation workstreams.
• Patching and ongoing support of application software.
• Participation on-call rota for out of hours support (including weekends and evenings).
• Technical writing in the form of knowledge base and how-to articles.
• Process automation.
• Working with DevOps tooling such as Jenkins / ansible / Jira / Github / confluence amongst other tools/applications.
• Has practical experience and proven understanding of:
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes.
  • Java 8+.
  • Scala (Desirable).
  • Play Framework (Desirable).
  • SQL.
  • RDBMS Fundamentals (Oracle DB preferred or similar).
  • GIT / GITHub.
  • Jira.
  • Jenkins and/or Tecton / Openshift pipelines.
  • Operating System Fundamentals i.e. UNIX & Windows.
  • JBOSS Fuse experience and/or Openshift experience.
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to analyse problems from multiple angles in a thorough, comprehensive way.
• Strong oral and written communication skills: Able to connect with stakeholders on a day to day basis via telephone, email and face-to-face.
• Proven experience in providing Second and Third line Application Support & Development.
• Willingness to undertake training as required and achieve against set learning targets.
• Experience of collaborative Agile development in an Application Management environment with experience in the use of Jira, Confluence or similar tools".
