The position involves research and innovation in technology for information and data security. In this position you will work on software design and development of prototypes with industrial application based on recent research and new concepts in cybersecurity, for application in multiple vertical scenarios and across technologies.    

 

Areas of work include incident detection and response, behavioural analytics, cybersecurity risk assessment, critical infrastructure protection, security information sharing and analysis, IoT/OT security, cloud security, security in Industry 4.0 environments, and research on the application of technologies such as artificial intelligence or blockchain to solve challenges in cybersecurity.

 

As part of the cybersecurity research team you will focus in developing software applications and components, get involved in prototype testing phases, and in piloting of solutions.  

 

You will join a research team and work under the direction of the Cybersecurity Research Unit manager.


This position is full-time and there are minimal travel requirements. Working environment is English. 


Basic required skills: 
⦁    Ability to take part in technical discussions 
⦁    Experienced in software engineering processes and general programming skills
⦁    Experienced in Java and/or Python.
⦁    Experienced in Web dev languages such as NodeJS and/or AngularJS.
⦁    Experience working in CI/CD environments (GitLab, Jenkins, Anchore, JMeter, JFrog, Portainer),  
⦁    Experienced in working with virtualized environments and containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
⦁    Experienced in other programming languages and supporting tools: Spring, MongoDB, Bootstrap etc.
⦁    Knowledge of software development phases and supporting tools: GitHub, Maven, JUnit, Subversion, etc.
⦁    Fluent spoken and written English
⦁    Availability for traveling
⦁    Self-starter, proactive and autonomous character
⦁    Good interpersonal and communication skills

 

Other valuable skills:
⦁    Knowledge of computer security concepts and practical experience applying them to real-world problems
⦁    Expertise in cybersecurity concepts and technologies.
⦁    Knowledge of concepts around usability and usable security
⦁    Past involvement in research or innovation activities (H2020 or others)
