Technical Consultants in the FIT Core Infrastructure Team are more like Telecommunications Designers. This position will be focused on cabling infrastructure design and installation management, along with specifying the UPS Systems, Mechanical (HVAC) and Electrical requirements to support the Network and Telecom Equipment. They will play a role in the entire project design process including, but not limited to, preliminary assessments, concept creation, design, problem resolution, drawing and specification production, customer and vendor accessibility, and budgeting. They’ll work on several concurrent projects and at times may assist as a technical expert on other specialized designs.

• Provide technical design of systems for building projects including voice, data, audio/visual, and other low voltage systems

• Responsibilities include preparation of specifications, descriptive drawings, conduct site visits, review technical documents, and customer contact

• Will be responsible to complete project assignments with minimal supervision as well as give directions to support staff to complete a project Qualifications

• Credentials as an RCDD is preferred

• Minimum 10 years’ experience actively designing low voltage and communication systems for buildings is required

• HS Diploma, or equivalent is required

• Familiarity and demonstrated knowledge of ANSI/TIA and BICSI standards required

• Experience, or understanding of 3-D modeling such as Revit and/or Triforma software is valued

• Strong interpersonal and time management skills required

• Self-motivation to coordinate with other disciplines and customers is required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required

• Proficiency in communicating technical information to engineering and related staff as well as presentation skills to customers is required

• Advanced technical education or coursework is preferred

• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Microstation, Visio, Bluebeam Revu is valued

• Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook is required

• Project Management experience related to Low Voltage Cabling Infrastructure installation is preferred

• General understanding of Commercial Construction terms, processes, and practices is preferred.
