Job Description:

 

 

The Bid manager acts as a project leader during the bid process and is responsible for converting sales opportunities into won contracts A Bid Manager acts as the project leader in bids, executing the process to develop an opportunity into a won contract. He/she is responsible for delivering the full proposition to the customer within the time, budget, resource constraints and guidance given through the Rainbow reviews.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Coordinate & structure the bid response process and be responsible for the bid team (financial architect, solution manager & architect, contract manager, risk manager, legal & compliance) from beginning of Sales pursuit until the handover to the Transition / Delivery team
  • Analyze customer needs, RFP requirements and develop specific bid proposals:
  • Ensure the development of high-quality proposal documents and customer presentations
  • Participation in customer presentations and negotiations
  • Act as project leader for the administrative process of sales pursuit:
  • Handle the bid budget
  • Ensure that all proposals adhere to process and meet required standards
  • Accompany the bid through key achievements of the Rainbow review (organize meetings, prepare documents, align internal partner etc.)
  • Conduct Win workshops and win loss review sessions Account management
  • Collaborate with Sales/Business development teams such as Account directors / managers, (G)CEPs and Business developers through the GTM process and Account Management process to help them identify and prioritize deals
  • Act as an advisor during the pursuit review, especially for bid qualification (risk measurement feasibility) Customer service
  • Work in close collaboration with client partners throughout bid process (Q&As) Commercial:
  1. Organize and Close The Deal
  • Give to maximizing order entry, win and hit rate
  • Responsible for developing the proposition that meets the customer’s requirements
  • Satisfies our internal requirements with regards to bid process and commercial process.
  • Maintains relationships with the customer and any third-party advisors on the process
  • Ensures that the proposal is both complete, consistent and of high-quality Coordinative: Steering the Team
  • Determines and organizes the resources that make up the (extended) bid team
  • Leads the team in a way that everyone can fulfill his/her role and gives in an optimal way
  • Flexibly responds to the situation at hand and provides vital guidance to the team
  • Demonstrates leadership to the team and provides direction concerning the content of the proposition Internal Governance: Manager the Bid Process
  • Prepares plan and budget, prioritizes and supervises the process to deliver the proposition
  • Maintains relationships with and communication to internal partners
  • Coordinates Win Workshops and ensures follow-up of the outcomes
  • Ensures timely and accurate preparation of internal reviews
  • Understands the implications of the bid for future delivery and acts accordingly in the development of the proposition Financial: Get Profitable Business
  • Contribute to improving order entry, win- and hit rate
  • Identifies financial risks and proposes steps to mitigate these risks
  • Identifies financial opportunities and proposes steps to realize these opportunities Competence: Acquire and Share Knowledge
  • Provide feedback of bid results and experiences towards other team members and management
  • Mentor less senior colleagues on the job
  • Participate and/or provide input on WIN/LOSS review
  • Proactively engage with staff in transition/delivery to discuss experiences with the aim to improve our bids
  • Participate and/or coordinate internal competence management and team sessions Administrative:
  • Report Achievements
  • Detail all relevant bid materials in Enterprise Bid Cabinet
  • Proactively provide status of activities and results towards management
  • Report hours spent on activities in Enterprise Self Service portal on time

 

 

Requirements:

 

 

  • 4-year degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8 to 12 years Bid management experience in IT field
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
