Director of Communications

We are seeking highly collaborative candidates with management experience for the role of Communications Director. The communications Director will be accountable for public perception and internal engagement of the company. Leading this perception involves developing communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting, responding to crises and setbacks, leading all aspects of a team of communications roles and ensuring that information released is consistent with the strategy at large.

You are a self-starter, a creative and out-of-the-box problem solver, a very strong writer, skilled at both developing critical communication plans and leading tactical execution and comfortable wearing many hats. He/She will be detail-oriented, be able to collaborate closely with the c-suite, work collaboratively across departments and demonstrate influence with key decision-makers.

Communications Director Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of critical communication plans that proactively highlight Atos’ value propositions, portfolio and business announcements
  • Develop cohesive internal communications strategy to improve internal engagement
  • Work with Marketing and global communications teams to craft messaging and identify story hooks that will earn Atos media
  • Engage with business leaders to drive earned media for Atos’ portfolio strategy, technology offerings and new areas of growth, including AI, digital platforms, cloud, IoT, Decarbonization
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to identify earned media and speaking opportunities that position executives as leaders with vision.
  • Develop and execute sponsored content strategy to drive brand awareness
  • Support thought leadership programs for key executives and coordinate awards submissions.
  • Lead crisis communications, including developing preparedness plans for complicated issues, reputation and crisis situations, providing counsel on crisis communication scenarios and serving as primary media contact.
  • Lead and guide communications team on both internal and external strategies

Communications Director Requirements:

  • MBA or advanced degree in Communications, Marketing or experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job related field, 10+ years communications experience.
  • Strong communications skills, organizing skills, editing ability
  • Tech background is a plus
  • Knowledge and working experience with social and news media.
  • Awareness of and proficiency with communications technologies.
  • Experience in partner/community engagement.
  • Clear communication with team members and senior management.
  • Strong and confident leadership.
  • Ability to create content crafted to build brand and drive online engagement
  • Ability to formulate clear and concise messages from sophisticated topics
  • Inventive in capturing information from across the organization
  • Comfortable multi-tasking
  • Very organized with unfailing attention to detail
  • Professional and executive presence conducive to working with senior leadership
