The Technical Architect produces end-to-end solution designs, putting together technologies from multiple IT areas including desktop technologies; mobile devices; Windows, Unix and Linux server technologies; storage solutions; virtualization, packaged and bespoke applications; network components; infrastructure tooling and ITIL-based processes. He or she also ensures technical quality and assurance by participating in Architect peer review processes.

 

Technical architect also provides governance and assurance of SME produced detailed design documentation, validating alignment to the HLD whilst adhering to Atos and account technology standards and policies. During an assignment a Project TA is expect to consistently demonstrate the following key skills within the project assignment context:
 

  • Technical focus and drive - be the architectural focal point the project design
  • Vision and innovation - identify and champion solution improvements managed through project change
  • Commercial awareness - understand the impact of design changes in the context of the end to end solution
  • Quality control and assurance - governance and alignment of design to build
  • Accountability and responsibility
  • High quality documentation and communication skills

 

The following are the key tasks expected on the position:

 

•          Review and provide realistic inputs to the project manager to assist with the project plan

•          Review and provide realistic inputs to the test manager to assist with the testing plans

•          Highlight any technical risks and issues with the architecture and designs

•          Ensure designs are peer-reviewed and peer-review the designs of others

•          Provide regular reporting updates to the Project Manager where required

•          Attend relevant project meetings and technical workshops where required when there is tangible architecture outputs

•          Review and provide technical information for project change requests that require architecture input.

•          Ensure architecture designs have been reviewed and approved by delivery towers and architecture approval boards

•          Define and produce appropriate design documentation that is consistent with the solution and meets the business requirements of the client.

•          Liaise with 3rd Party suppliers and other partners when and where required to meet client requirements.

•          Provide input and guidance into the Service Acceptance of the solution
