The L3 Linux Engineer will integrate the ATOS’ Infrastructure Operations Team for the Eurocontrol contract.


He/She will be responsible to:

· Maintain the Linux infrastructure.

· Acknowledge, troubleshoot and resolve L3 tickets assigned to the team in a correct way.

· Document system administrator guidelines.

· Escalate incidents internally or to 3rd party partners when required.

· Participate, on a punctual basis, on specific projects related to his/her specialty.


The Linux Engineer must have good interpersonal skills and must be a team player.

· Team Leader


In close relations with:

· ATOS’ Infrastructure Operations Team

· Incident Manager

· Change Manager

· Problem Manager

· Service Delivery Manager

· CMDB Manager



· Maintain and adapt the infrastructure (Redhat 7 & 8, Server and workstation, VMware);

· Manage, coordinate, and implement software upgrades , patches, hot fixes on servers,

· Managing Directory Service: IDM (Identity Data Management), OpenLDAP,

· L3 Incident resolution, Problem resolution, Change implementation;

· Troubleshooting, co-ordination with third party suppliers as well as with the central IT department of the customer;

· Advise the project team and customer request;

· Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity management;

· Create and Maintain the relevant documents/manuals describing the system and its infrastructure;

· Possibility to participate in standby 24h/7;

· Provide input for Incidents/Problems/Change/Defects post closure analysis to the Incident/Problem/Change Manager and/or the Technical Team Leader;

· Provide input in order to organize regular knowledge transfer sessions.

· Automating using scripting


Working Conditions:

· Work shifts of 8 hours covering the time range between 08h30 and 18h30 from Monday to Friday with some flexibility required when overtime is exceptionally needed.


Employment and technical/certification requirements:

· At least 8 years of professional experience in the specific ICT domains as described below

· At least 3 years’ experience with RedHat 7 (and higher) Enterprise Linux; (mandatory)

· Experience to support Linux tooling (i.e. Red Hat IDM, Centreon, Nagios, Satellite 6.X, Ansible tower,..) ; (would be an asset)

· Experience in scripting (i.e. ksh, bash, perl, python, ansible) (mandatory)

· Able to configure identity and access management (LDAP) and centralized IT security policy management;(would be an asset)

· Experience with VMWare;

· Knowledge of server virtualization software (VMware vSphere, VMware ESX)

· Knowledge to support, install Linux server in VMWare environments;

· Knowledge to support, install Linux workstation

· Experience in migrating OpenLDAP to IDM (ideally)

· Experience with VMware vROps (nice to have)

· General experience on Cloud i.e. Azure, Oracle

· Knowledge about approach infrastructure as a code (nice to have)

· Good communication skills

· Knowledge of ITIL V3 processes

· Red Hat valid certification: RHCSA or RHCE (would be an asset)



· English proficient (CEFRL Level: Minimum B2, Ideally C1)

· Preferable 2nd language: French



· He/she can work remotely with onsite office working possibilities.



· Bachelor or University degree in IT or equivalent by valid professional IT certifications in the domain of administration/operations of RHEL / VMWare.
