We are currently looking for Mainframe Systems Automation Engineer
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Creating scripts and procedures to automate routine operations such as starting, stopping, monitoring, and managing mainframe applications and the operating system.
- Creating and managing task schedules such as batch processing, data import and export, and report generation.
- Managing the configuration of the mainframe environment, including software updates, creating backups, and system restoration.
- Administering and supporting mainframe automation tools such as OPS/MVS and GDPS products. Installation and migration of the System Automation.
- Developing new System Automation policies
- Leading technical automation projects
- Integrating Mainframe systems with other applications and IT systems, enabling more efficient data exchange and collaboration between different platforms.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Mainframe Systems, particularly z/OS
- Proficiency in scripting languages, including JCL or Assembly Language
- Ability to work with automation tools such as Control-M, CA Automic, OPS/MVS, GDPS, zOS NetView or TWS
- Scripting knowledge - REXX
- Willingness and capability to work in a mainframe environment, including troubleshooting and optimizing z/OS systems
- Familiarity with COBOL programming language
- Knowledge of databases such as DB2, IMS or Adabas
