Job Description

The scope of the Cross-Functional Architects is driven by their Bid / Project / RFC assignments. They work as peers with Service (and sometimes Enterprise) Architects from other Atos units and customers if needed. They cover all 5 aspects of service anatomy for their assignments (processes, data, tools & technologies, security, people). The key objective is to design a solution and to guide the implementation or transformation process to get it into production. E2E = all topics in ITSM, ITAM, System Mgmt., Security Mgmt.

Main duties:

Due Diligence:

  • Responsible for requirement clarification and documentation of the scope, required information/clarifications to be delivered by sales/project lead and/or requester.
  • Address/bring up any gaps between documented requirements / approved HLA vs. the actual bid/project / RFC scope considered in the workstream. Drive to get such gaps resolved.

Solution Design:

  • Responsible for creation of HLA (typically in Visio, high-level, showing tools and integrations with technology and process hints) covering all services and service capabilities in scope as per documented requirements and exclusions.
  • Integrations between tooling and the customer’s tooling as well as integrations between tooling and another Atos-internal tooling not managed by team (endpoints only).
  • Must be in line with (at the time) current standard tooling and forward tooling strategy (tooling roadmap) for global and customer (implied by SDB approval).
  • Any deviation from standard/strategy must be highlighted explicitly and justified (e.g., by pointing to specific contractual obligations), esp. if manual work is introduced by some party where the standard/roadmap has tooling/automation to offer.
  • Adhere to relevant CTO (Central Technology Office) policies (implied by SDB approval).
  • Present HLA and related requirements, scoping, etc. in SDB, clarify/adapt as needed, drive to get approval.
  • Responsible to create HLD after SDB approval, describing each element in the HLA in more detail
  • HLA and HLD shall provide clear information per major landmark on the work stream’s roadmap (e.g., documenting an IMO, which changes are required to get to FMO, clean documentation of FMO)

Implementation & Test

  • Acts as requester and internal tester towards Atos-internal parties
  • Supports CAT testing for E2E scope and drives it to success

Documentation:

  • Document (e.g., meeting minutes via email) important decisions that affect HLA / HLD and/or introduce a roadmap with multiple major achievements to the workstream
  • Document acquired SDB approval
  • Keep the requirement/scope documentation and the produced HLA & HLD updated on the Architecture Share Point for later reference.
  • Document test signoffs (internal & CAT) for the implemented solution.
