The Role:


The Capacity Manager performs the day-to-day overall management of the process. This role ensures that all process activities are being performed and that they are staffed adequately. The Capacity Manager plans, improves, monitors and reports the availability of IT services and IT infrastructure components in order to meet availability service level commitments.




  • Monitor capacity requirements and usage of IT infrastructure and services
  • Produce capacity analyses and plans in support of projects within the organization
  • Provide the Capacity Reporting to the customer
  • Review Forward Schedule of Change, attend Change Advisory Board meetings and assess changes for their impact on capacity and its performance
  • Providing formal proposals as well as justification documents for capacity recommendations  
  • Provide advice and guidance to other departments to help them optimize best use of resources  
  • Ensure all issues affecting capacity analyses and planning are communicated in a timely and efficient manner  
  • Liaise with and assist internal customers in identifying and planning their current and future capacity requirements; ensure capacity demand from the client is properly captured


Must have:


  • Proven working experience as Capacity Manager.
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of ITIL  
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to form strong relationships within a matrix organization.
  • Good understanding of service management principles including management of configuration items (CIs), thinking in a service context, and defining outcomes-based delivery.
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure: Linux, VMware, Network routing & Switching, Firewall, Azure, …
  • Ability to communicate with multiple levels of an organization, including interaction with senior level business partners and with the customers. 
  • Must be details oriented, analytical, and demonstrate ability to work in ambiguous environment. Must be self-directed with proven ability to make mature decisions supported by thorough data analysis.  
  • Excellent problem - solving, critical thinking and analytical skills 
  • 5-6 years’ experience in IT operations.
  • Strong ITSM Process depth and breadth for Availability and Service continuity management functions
