The role has a solid reporting line either into the relevant Head of Subarea within each Procurement Tower for management and development, but the role is designed to take direction from all Subarea Heads as demand requires or directly to Category Manager.

Locally this role has a reporting line to GDC Procurement Director.

 

What will you be doing:

  • work with all Global and Local team members to identify, integrate and realise global and local actions applicable to the subarea.
  • ensure integration of purchasing activities of the subarea with other functions and operations in GBU.
  • contribute to the Global purchasing network by participating in or leading purchasing teams and actions within subarea.  Share and integrate best practises.
  • contribute to local procurement strategy to achieve TCO savings, risk management and value creation inside GBU.
  • ensure relevant commercial flow down to subarea third party suppliers as determined by the Procurement Bid team.
  • managing the overall delivery of all requirements pertaining to relevant subject area
  • delivering tangible savings to the Region
  • being an ambassador for Procurement
  • inputting to subarea strategy - Identifying business needs and requirements. Executing and implementing the plan.
  • collaborating with Global Purchasing, especially with the Global Lead Buyers to integrate the maximum of savings and value from the global actions into GBU. Supporting and leading both local and global process changes. Communicating GBU operational facts into Category Managers and Lead Buyers so that additional value can be integrated into the global actions.
  • supporting local bids and new business projects and implementing project related purchases if done at the local level or as requested.

 

Requirements:

  • fluent English 
  • min 2-3 yrs Procurement or Sales experience
  • knowledge of MS office
  • key Procurement skillset: Stakeholder Management, Negotiation/Contract Management
  • motivated with an ability to work with multiple stakeholders across different business areas
  • ability to evaluate, organise and prioritise service delivery requirements
  • ability to analyse and resolve complex problems quickly
  • proven experience in negotiation and savings delivery
  • ability to manage and mitigate risk through effective strategic planning activity
  • demonstrates leadership potential.
  • high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • able to progress issues and queries, escalating when necessary
