We are currently looking to fill the following position: IT Architect (ATM) – Flight & Flow Airspace Industry

In the Role of the IT Architect at Atos you will:

 

• Design and support the implementation of the new Flight and Flow functional system for Routing, Capacity Planning and Network Management;

• Support the development and business teams in selecting and designing the right solution to meet the business objectives – Airspace Management domain;

• Support and guide the operations teams in understanding the systems architecture, high-level functionalities and system components;

• Support the testing team in identification of the right testing approach for individual system components;

• Support Environment Management team in setup of the right target platforms for the systems in scope;

• Provide expertise on the overall functional flight & flow systems, engineering best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions;

• Set up and maintain contacts with business units to understand business activities, drivers, and requirements; consider solution strategies and alternatives for possible implementation, and establish appropriate information system programs;

• Provide architectural leadership in the resolution of inter-program and inter-project issues and advice management, business areas, etc.;

• Develop and coordinate architecture roadmaps and plans;

• Continuously research and assess new analysis approaches for potential use, and provide recommendations and subject matter expertise regarding trends, technology, tools and services;

• Check compliance within the enterprise architecture and reinforce adherence to standards, policies, procedures, etc.;

• Perform any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

 

About the Opportunity

• You will become a part of the delivery team for one of our key Customers in the Airspace Industry, dealing with Air Traffic Management, Flight planning and Air Traffic Control capacity planning.

• Our Customer has embarked on the multi-year journey of IT landscape modernisation to increase efficiency of the European Air Traffic Management systems under the most critical programme in European public sector area.

• Working as a part of the team you will be engaged in the delivery of cutting-edge IT systems supporting pan-European aviation and shaping the future of European Air Traffic Management.

Must have Skills (Demonstrable experience required):

• Ability to manage stakeholders at a CXO level.

• Emotional Intelligence required to deal with people and influence them

• Ability to manage lead, manage and direct a team of multi-disciplinary architects.

• Demonstrable ability to distil complex idea into simple concepts which can presented and conveyed convincingly

 

Must have Required Qualification:

• Hands on enterprise management experience including use of standard tools (Enterprise Architect credentials such as TOGAF, Open CA, ArchiMate, etc. would be advantage);

• Solid air traffic domain experience (Flight, Flow, Routing, Capacity planning, Airspace Management);

• Experience in the Flight & Flow operational systems such as iTEC (interoperability Through European Collaboration) or equivalent products (Thales, Leonardo) is a mandatory requirement;

• Working experience for the following organizations would be considered an advantage: DFS, ENAIRE, NATS or PANSA (or other member of iTEC Alliance);

• Very good knowledge of the following programming languages: ADA, C++, Java;

• Knowledge and hands on experience in the following technologies: RDBMS, NoSQL, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Openshift would be considered and advantage

• Employed/Contracted with large organisations

• Ideally Belgium based – or ability to travel to Belgium on a regular basis for customer intimacy;

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant architecture experience to perform the advertised tasks;

• Analytical skills: Applies methodical approach to complex information;

• Problem Solving: Anticipates and solves business issues;

Desirable:

Completed university studies of 4 years (Master’s degree) in a relevant domain (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology)
