The opportunity

The Cross-Functional Solution Architecture team, part of Atos’ Global Pre-Sales organisation, is responsible for the pre-sales activities related to account service management, ITIL-based operational management and ITSM tooling.

The CFS Solution Architect works as part of a bid team to deliver the end-to-end solution for CFS services, bringing together the customer’s requirements and Atos’ capabilities to deliver an innovative, balanced, value-for-money solution to the customer, and profitable business to Atos.


Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Craft the end to end solution (for both transition and operation) for your area of responsibility, melding customer requirements, the Atos portfolio, and wider market trends to build a competitive, innovative, winning solution.

- Model solution costs using standard and customized models, integrating 3rd party quotes as needed, to build a comprehensive cost model for your solution. Validate the accuracy and efficiency of your costs, for example using KPIs or independent benchmark data, and adjust the solution as needed to hit the target cost.

- Work with other internal teams, domain authorities, partners and 3rd party suppliers to develop your solution, leading your solution area overall, owning all work and leading other teams’ delivery to time, cost, and quality.

- Identify material assumptions and dependencies, document and validate them, and where appropriate, ensure their involvement in the relevant customer or 3rd party contracts.

- Identify material risks, identify and agree mitigation strategies, and own / deliver any resulting actions as the need arises.

- Review the solution with key partners throughout the bid, using established document templates and approval processes or methods and actioning feedback points as needed. Following contract signature, ensure a smooth handover to transition and operations.

- Produce compelling customer proposal documents, clearly articulating the solution and it’s benefits to the client, addressing specific requirements or questions and following prescribed templates and standard methodology for each bid.

- Work with customers during “early engagement” activities, sharing Atos’ capabilities and potential solutions and offering a captivating vision and unique selling proposition to help customers refine their requirements and position Atos positively for future opportunities.

- Present your solution to the customers with passion and credibility, offering a compelling vision of their solution and convincing them of the value of our proposition.

- Support contract negotiations as needed, identifying potential issues or opportunities and using your knowledge and experience to enable the team to secure favourable outcomes.

- Give back to your team, identifying and implementing improvement initiatives and sharing your expertise through coaching and mentoring. Develop new, innovative propositions or solution variants and share them proactively with the wider team.


Signs of success

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a rich combination of experience, validated skills and personal attributes.

Whilst base location is flexible, travel may be required depending on the needs of individual bids. Eligibility for SC clearance will generally be required as the scope will include public sector bids.


Skills we can’t do without!

  • 3-5 years proven track record working with IT Service Management processes and tools, including experience of industry standards such as ITIL, and industry-leading tools such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.
  • Communication – clearly and persuasively articulate compound concepts such as a solution, proposition, or argument to multiple partner levels via multiple mediums.
  • Cultural awareness – recognise and respect cultural differences found in teams with dynamic strengths, adapting work seamlessly with colleagues across the globe.


Skills-nice to have:

  • You have experience of a tender or pre-sales environment, crafting customer solutions, modelling costs, writing successful proposals, and pitching to customers.
  • Requirements analysis and elicitation – identify, analyse, and analyse customer requirements, both implicit and explicit, functional and non-functional.
  • Data analysis and validation – analyse data to identify key volumes, insights, and performance metrics to offer solution design and costing.
  • Analysis & problem solving – utilize your experience to constructively challenge internal and external collaborators, using formal problem-solving techniques to identify creative or innovative solutions to challenges.
  • Partner management – identify and analyse customers and their relationships / attitudes, deploying a variety of techniques to establish relationships and influence our success.
