£45 000 - £65 000, including superb benefits, 25 days holiday, bonuses, private medical, private accident insurance and share scheme. 


The main project locations for these roles are Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Telford and Worthing. Customer visits to one of the above-mentioned locations are required and your role will include a mixture of remote working, working from our client’s offices and working from customer offices.


Note: All Applicants must be either UK citizens or have lived in the UK for 5 years because Security Clearance eligibility is a must.

The opportunity
We are looking for a Solutions Architect to join our team! If you love ground-breaking technologies, want to work in a fast-paced environment and you consider yourself a forward-thinking motivated person, read below!

-  Help shape client requirements, and identifying innovative and competitive solutions to meet their business need, alignment of client business requirements with relevant Atos portfolio offerings, and where there are gaps or opportunities, to build new innovative solutions.

-  Analyse customer business needs for own areas of expertise and developes the most efficient solution for clients.

-  Lead development of systems architectures for complex systems or an entire corporate suite of systems. Takes full responsibility end to end for overall system design.

-  Work closely with counterparts in B&PS practices to define and deliver solutions at scale in areas of Agile, AI, robotics, RPA, Application Support & Maintenance, Integration, Cloud Services, Digital Transformation, SAP, Testing, Big Data and Digital Workplace.

-  Assures specification and design work.

-  Helps with strategy and methods used in implementing a systems architecture in a significant organisation.

-  Provides technical leadership to assist in growing the Atos business and underpinning effective support and delivery of solutions.

-  Develops new techniques for use in systems architecture. Promotes the architecture discipline within the wider Atos BP&S family.

-  Mentors the new members of the team.

Required skills and experience: 
-  Experience in a relevant systems or software architect, position is important for the role.

-  Able to demonstrate experience of shaping solutions from a commercial and service and security perspective.

-  Systems or Solutions Architect with at least 1 year as an Architect (or equivalent role) and 5+years of experience as an IT professional.

-  TOGAF or BCS ISEB Architecture Certified.

-  Experience and understanding of Software development processes and methodologies, translating business and feature requirements into technical specifications, communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical customers, and in building effective relationships with a wide range of technical peers.

-  Ability to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically.

-  Experience across the full lifecycle of delivery from sales through projects and service delivery.

-  Show leadership and extensive functional and technical expertise in planning, designing and implementing complex application solutions and has, as such, an in-depth knowledge of various Microsoft .net and /or open source based and/or cloud native products and technologies. Knowledgeable about the concepts of Application Lifecycle Management and is able to efficiently and effectively apply them in practice.

Skills we'd like: 
-  A Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Management, or similar level of education.

-  Experience of working with Large Government Department/Agency or Large company environment.

-  Expertise in at least one of Software, Systems or Data Architecture specialty, Generalist experience with a balance across multiple service or technology areas.

-  Business fluent in English, verbal and written is a must.

-  Excellent consulting and presentation skills.

-  Track record in supporting Digital transformation for clients.

-  Support the solution team, or sales team in the development of winning propositions, including writing proposal elements as required, development of costings and models to identify opportunity to meet client business cases, development and delivery of presentations to clients and internal teams.

-  Motivated person with 'go-getter' demeanour. 

-  Attention for detail, ability to be hands on when required

-  Good understanding of finances/commercial elements of solutions

-  The ideal candidate will have strong experience and skills in hybrid-cloud architecture and familiarity with the major cloud vendors in the marketplace.

-  Familiar in both local and offshore delivery.

-  Involves and demonstrates knowledge of others in decision making and problem solving.

-  Makes decisions by evaluating options and uses commercial and market awareness to make appropriate recommendation.

-  Support technical risk management and mitigation of large projects.

-  Jira, MS Project, Trello or similar.

-  Collaboration software (Jamboard, Miro or similar).

-  Scala with SBT.

-  Play! Framework (Scala bindings).

-  HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

-  Continuous integration (Jenkins).

-  Version control (Git & GitHub).

-  NoSQL databases (MongoDB).

-  Postman.

-  Oracle Databases.

-  Browser-based testing (Selenium).

-  Security testing (e.g,OWASP ZAP).

-  Performance testing (e.g, Gatling).

-  Accessibility testing (e.g, Axe, Wave, NVDA, Zoomtext, Voiceover).

-  Kibana.

-  Grafana.

-  Splunk.

-  PagerDuty.

-  Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager.

-  Mobile application technology, both iOS and Apple platforms.
