The prime project locations are Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds, Telford and Worthing. Customer visits to one of the mentioned cities are required to meet the business objectives and fulfil the client expectations.

The opportunity

We are looking for motivated Senior Solutions Architects to help us deliver Digital Transformation.

  • Help craft client requirements, and identifying innovative solutions to meet their business need, alignment of client business requirements with relevant Atos portfolio offerings, and where there are gaps or opportunities, to build new innovative solutions.

  • Analyse customer business needs for own areas of expertise and develops the most efficient solution for clients.

  • Lead development of systems architectures for sophisticated systems or an entire corporate suite of systems. Takes full responsibility end to end for overall system design.

  • Work closely with counterparts in B&PS practices to define and deliver solutions at scale in areas of Agile, AI, robotics, RPA, Application Support & Maintenance, Integration, Cloud Services, Digital Transformation, SAP, Testing, Big Data and Digital Workplace.

  • Assure specification and design work.

  • Is responsible for the strategy and methods used in implementing a systems architecture in a significant organization.

  • Provides technical leadership to assist in growing the Atos business and underpinning effective support and delivery of solutions.

  • Develops new techniques for use in systems architecture. Promotes the architecture discipline within the wider Atos BP&S family. Takes an active role in the management of other staff and is a role model for technical and engineering staff.


Required skills:

  • Relevant background worming as a Software Architect. Having a breadth of technical knowledge, candidates must also be able to demonstrate experience in crafting solutions from a commercial and service and security perspective.

  • Systems or Solutions Architect with at least 3 years of proven experience as an Architect and 10+ years as an IT professional.

  • TOGAF or BCS ISEB Architecture Certified.

  • Experience translating business and feature requirements into technical specifications and establishing effective links with a wide variety of technical peers.

  • Top-tier in communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical partners.

  • Ability to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts explore and evaluate them systematically.

  • Experience across the full lifecycle of delivery from sales through projects and service delivery.


Skills we’d like:

  • A Master or Bachelor degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, Information Management, or a similar level of education.

  • Experience of working with Large Government Department/Agency or Large company environment.

  • The ideal candidate will have good experience and skills in hybrid-cloud architecture and familiarity with the major cloud vendors in the marketplace.

  • Supervise record in supporting Digital transformation for clients.

Support the solution team, or sales team in the creation of winning propositions, including:

  • Writing proposal elements as required.

  • Customer focus - committed to building excellent, long-term relationships with customers, based on a full grasp of their needs and dedication to meeting their expectations.

  • Attention for detail, ability to be hands-on when required

  • Good understanding of finances/commercial elements of solutions

  • Makes decisions by evaluating options and uses commercial and market awareness to make appropriate recommendation


Desirable exposure to/experience in:

  • Jira, MS Project, Trello, or similar.

  • Collaboration software (Jamboard, Miro or similar).

  • Scala with SBT.

  • Play! Framework (Scala bindings).

  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

  • Continuous integration (Jenkins).

  • Version control (Git & GitHub).

  • NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
