The opportunity

We are looking for an IoT/Telemetry Engineer to work with utilities client on long-term programmes to migrate remote sites and top-end telemetry and control systems to next-generation technology!

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Be a trusted player for the Operational Technology (OT) customer team.
  • Provide return on experience to the team and Client as required.
  • Ensure that Networks & Security are taken into account in all new deployment
  • Provide inputs to the Low-Level Design, and participate to commissioning.

The role is based in the UK and candidates should be available for travel to client sites throughout the country.

 

Skills we can’t do without:

  • BSc or MSc University degree in the field of IT (available also for graduates)
  • Basic knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL database systems
  • Knowledge of ladder logic programming
  • Radio technologies including scanning radio, LTE cellular, Narrowband, and satellite communications
  • Knowledge of protocols used in end-end serial communications for telemetry, command and control like for example MODBUS and DNP3
  • Knowledge of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, communications means (LoRaWAN, NB-IoT,…), cloud data repository and management systems
  • Knowledge of Edge concepts and distributed architectures.

 

Skills we’d like:

  • At least 0.5-1 year experience with application development in the environment of Azure (App Services, Functions) and other cloud technologies is an advantage
  • Cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google solution architecture experience or certificate
