PIMS is a client/server application for the acquisition, display, archiving and reporting of information from a wide variety of control, plant and business systems. A critical component in a manufacturing enterprise’s application architecture for creating a common repository of plant information that can be effectively leveraged in enterprise and supply chain management applications

Working along with clients, consultants, systems architects, analysts, factory operators to understand the needs.

You are able to design, implement, integrate, configure and operate OSIsoft PI based solutions to help clients to improve their manufacturing operations through the integration of PIMS and implementing the technology solutions.

 

About the Unit MES / PLM

 

The MES / PLM unit provides services and solutions in Manufacturing Execution Systems, Product Development and Product Lifecycle Management. The services are aimed at advising, realizing and maintaining custom solutions and the implementation of standard packages.

Atos has expert teams in several European countries, the US and Asia. The more than 300 employees within Atos who work in this field have already successfully implemented and completed more than 500 projects. Almost all of these projects have an international character and the success that has been achieved with them through cross-border cooperation.

 

Key responsibilities for the role:

 

You know the typical processes in a production environment, so you are perfectly able to integrate and connect the PIMS solutions to these production processes. You also understand the specific information exchange between DCS, Scada (Distributed Control Systems) and PIMS. You have preferably gained this knowledge and experience by performing multiple PIMS implementations based on OSIsoft PI. As a result, you are well acquainted with the details and project phases of a PIMS implementation project and the specific preconditions for a PIMS project to run successfully. All this ensures that operators and managers in a factory environment see you as a fully-fledged partner who’s knows how to convert their need for data in a reliable and solid PIMS.

 

To be successful in the role:

 

  • WO / HBO level, preferably a computer science or technical education (control engineering, technical business administration, mechanical engineering, chemical technology, technical physics in combination with a computer science component as a major or minor)
  • Between 5- 10 years Proven experience as an OSIsoft PI engineer;
  • Solid understanding of OSIsoft PI products, knowledge of other standard PIMS packages such as: AspenTech IP21, Rockwell, etc., is optional.
  • Knowledge of and experience in integration of business processes and the supporting principles of ERP, MES and PLM systems;
  • Familiar with modern methodologies / techniques (BPMn, TOGAF / Archimate, MESA, ISA-95, ISA-88, etc.);
  • A good knowledge of the Manufacturing domain;
  • Creative, analytical, and accurate
  • Able to work independently or as part of a team, depending upon project scope at customers locations, mainly across the Netherlands and occasionally abroad.
  • Strong knowledge of both Dutch and English language.
