Your role as Lead Network Architect at Atos


This senior level engineering resource will help set network technology direction and provide architectural level and strategic design solutions, organized consolidation and migration techniques with risk analysis, and standardizations for our core Datacenter infrastructures. The resource will improve the global efficiency of the existing corporate WAN and Core backbone infrastructure, and design parallel blue prints based on strategic directions.


This role includes customer facing to help align business requirements with technology capabilities. We expect the person in this role to act as a consultant to our clients and other engineering resources, while helping maintain the best overall solution with the services that we provide. The Architect will work with various vendors to help deliver the best possible future proof core backbone and WAN solutions based on technology road maps and assessments, standard methodologies, cost analysis, and return on investments.


Key responsibilities for the role:


  • Keeping architectural records and proposing / substantiating (business case) improvements / new functionalities
  • Drawing up and update technical frameworks / blueprints for infrastructure services such as Switching / routing within the Practice Network & Communications
  • Create and update generic work instructions for administration teams
  • Participate in projects for network related changes
  • Preparing and guiding complex changes
  • Drafting functional / technical designs
  • Transfer to administration teams


To be successful in the role:


  • 5 to 10 years of professional experience in the field of network and security
  • Have acquired in-depth knowledge of routing, switching and security (especially CISCO) in DCLAN network (on prem, shared, dedicated)
  • Knowledge of experience in VXLAN and NSX.
  • Have high end troubleshooting experience with specific focus around various Cisco products and experience with multivendor products and features in datacenter and core backbone and WAN solutions
  • Knowledge of the data center and wireless environment
  • Experience in taking care of products from leading manufacturers such as Cisco, Check Point, F5, Juniper, Extreme, Aruba, etc.
  • Certifications are an advantage (e.g. Cisco CCNP)
  • Proficiency in English as well as in Dutch
